I’ve tried for the past couple of hours to wax poetic and stuff about last night. Totally not working. I’ve gone through at least 20 different things that just Didn’t Work. So here it is:
After months of kidney disease, Candi went to sleep last night. She was 17 years old. And it toally sucked. Every minute of it. She was a pain in the ass like every cat is (to me, at least), but she was still Unexplainably Awesome, and it was very difficult to see her not be Well. Anyone that’s had a pet can understand the pain that comes with all of this. It’s been heartbreaking in every sense of the word, and like a cut, only time is going to help patch that wound.
However, there was something that left a great impression on me as we were leaving the vet’s office. We were the last ones of the evening, and the doctor and her staff were so amazing to Melissa it’s beyond words. There wasn’t one person that didn’t have tears, and I was sure to thank Dr. Wilber (terrible name, awesomest vet Ever) especially for having treated Melissa and Candi so well. It was truly an amazing thing.
And I know Candi is So Much Better now.

You couldn’t have put it more beautifully. Candi is not in pain anymore, but our hearts ache nonetheless.
Yes, Nancy is the awesomest vet ever. And Candi is the awesomest cat ever (although I know you might beg to differ).

I’m so sorry to hear about the cat. It has to be terrible to go through that, and I hope time heals quickly.
